Easy and quick Waffle recipe

This is THE waffle recipe I remember from my childhood. My mom made these cute little heart shapes waffles for birthday parties or just for the Saturday afternoon. I just use my American bought waffle iron.

Course Breakfast, Snack
Cuisine Dutch
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings 20 waffles

Ingredients

  • 1 sticks butter room temperature
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 pack of vanilla sugar if you have it
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla for about 3 minutes in the kitchen aid machine

  2. Separate the eggs and beat the egg yolks with the butter-sugar mixture.

  3. Then add the milk and beat until it is nicely combined

  4. Add the sifted flour to the batter.

  5. Beat the egg whites with a little salt into peaks. This can be a tricky thing to do. I usually take a metal bowl and rub it with some lemon juice.

  6. Slowly fold the egg white under the batter with a rubber spatula.

  7. Let the waffle iron get really hot and grease it with a little oil.

  8. Use a ladle to drop batter onto your iron. Cook between 3-5 minutes. This depends on the waffle iron.

  9. Choose from the toppings above to go with your waffles....Enjoy!
