Macrame Key Chains

A project I wanted to do with our Pinteresting Group, but we haven’t done it yet, are these Macrame Key Chains. Maybe we will pick other ones like these fun projects as well.

Right before the Corona virus situation happened, we had our first Pinteresting Group. We organized a monthly get-together with a project to work on, or people could work on their own projects.

Our next project would have been macrame key chains. I was thinking of doing an online version of the Pinteresting group and use these as our next project. Maybe soon. I’m still in the process of finding my daily schedule during this COVID-19 quarantine.

I could manage it to try them out at least and here is the result.

I used white macrame yarn, but I thing any kind of yarn could work. Below you’ll find an affiliate link, you can use for different colors of macrame yarn. I do like the non-wool, not fuzzy ones. Because you can see the knots better.

The first one I made was the right one in the picture above. Just to get a feel for the yarn and embroidery thread. I just braided with 3 strands, folded through the key chain ring and made a knot at the end. Then wrapped embroidery yarn and combed the ends. This was a little cheat, because it is not a macrame knot;)

The others have macrame knots and here you can find how to make these:

The one above is little trickier. I tried the second key chain in my picture like that and you can see that it is important to keep the same kind of tension in the knots. Some of them I made looser than the other ones. That’s why it looks a little crooked;) Practice makes perfect!!!

Now an easier one:

I like adding beads and embroidery yarn.
