Upcycled Jars and Cans

Project #3 is here! After 3 weeks being in quarantine, glass jars (like candle jars and jam) and cans are piling up in our recycling bin. We just bought a new house in February, so organizing and designing every room will be an ongoing project. And I bet every room needs some of these Upcycled Jars and Cans.

1. Votive Holders

We’re not eating “Oui-Yogurt”, so we don’t have these super cute glass jars. But if you do, here is how you can make them.

2. Glass and Twine

Upcycled Jars

I think these will look really cute together if you have about 3 of them. Unfortunately our youngest flung one candle jar down, while playing a Wii game. Now I have to buy and light some more vanilla candles.

I had all different kinds of twine left from other projects. I like the rustic feel of it. You can use rests of wool or other yarn also, to make it more colorful. Use tin cans with colorful yarn for pen holders in a kids room for example.

I had a fun idea with this jar for Easter:

3. Succulent Planters

How fun are these? I couldn’t get real succulents at this moment, but instead I made my own in another project: Paper Succulents. I like the idea of partly painting the glass and use this beautiful course white sand. Use painters tape when you paint the jar to get a clean line.

4. Sea Glass Jars and Bottles

DIY Projects

I always love the look of sea glass. I’m definitely going to try this, because we just renovated our bathroom and I think some of these jars will look perfect in there. Here you can find the total tutorial with some tips.

5. Painted Cans with Napkins

Upcycling DIY Projects

It’s fun to have a little “Country” in the house. These cans I painted with leftover paint. You can use any napkin you like and cut the desired print out. Napkins usually have 3 layers. Peel the top layer off and carefully glue it on the painted can with ModPodge. Add any embellishments you like!

And here you can try out 18 more ideas!

Enjoy!!!
