We’ve been going to Aldi for the past 4 years. It’s a little bit of a drive, but we love the products and it brings back memories from my home country, the Netherlands. A good amount of European products are offered and one of the seasonal things we’ve found, were these little Oui yogurts. It’s too hard for me to just throw the glass jars away. So, here are 6 fun ideas for using those Oui yogurt jars.
For one: The kids love that yogurt. It is smooth, not sour and the flavors are subtle. When the kids grab a spoon, their pinky fingers go up and I only hear Oooh’s and Aaaaah’s! After they ate it, it is my turn to say Ooooh and Aaaaahhh. Don’t forget to check out other Crafts at the Yoplait Oui website.
6 Fun ideas to reuse Oui yogurt jars

5. Decoupage Napkin Jars
Remember my last Decoupage Candle post? This is a another way how to use napkins to make something cute, even cuter!
6. DIY Wall hanging.
Of course I had to choose one craft. What to make with these cute little glass Oui yogurt jars?
I decided to make this wall hanging. The reason was, that I was looking for some creative ways to put more green into our house with a rustic feel.
So, I went outside and found a stick, got a ball of twine and embroidery floss. I cleaned the jars with water and soap. The sticky glue I got off with a paste made of vegetable oil and baking soda.
I think I have to redo the hanging part with the twine and use 8 strings of twine, instead of 4. It is still working with 4, but I think 8 will be much sturdier. I made 2 rows of knots. Try to fit a jar inside and have the knots as even as you can from each other. Tie a big knot on top. On the bottom knot, I used some embroidery floss, to make it a little more colorful.
Then I used potting soil and white rocks and some ivy plants to fill the yogurt glasses.
Note:
After a year I changed the ivy, because they weren’t getting enough sun light, I think! I found these super cute small plants at Hirt’s Gardens.
It was time to hang them up! And I think it adds a lot to our boring hallway!
7. Spice jars with cork lid
This has been a problem for a while. Not really a problem, but annoying. I have so many different sizes and shapes of spice jars. I never put them away in the cupboard while cooking, so I left them out on the counter, next to the stove and they just look messy and unorganized.
I think I’ve found a solution!
And I even found FITTING CORK LIDS! I ordered the 0.94 in x 2.40 in x 2.13 in, ten of them and they work.
I share a little mistake: On top of the cork I wanted to write the spice name, so when the jars are all sitting in a little box (I still have to make that!), you can see what’s in the jars, right! So, I wrote with a black Sharpie the names of the spices. And of course, while cooking, your hands can get wet and suddenly some of the ink bled. Then I thought to fix it and dabbed some ModPodge over the ink. It bled even more. So, maybe I could try oil based Permanent markers. They’re permanent and waterproof!
Thanks for checking in and pinning this for me.
